Ron Furlong - Superintendent

Ron took over the position as Superintendent of Avalon in March of 2002.

He began his career in 1988 at Suntree CC, a private Arnold Palmer designed course in Florida.

From 1990 – 1997 Ron worked on three clubs in Minnesota, where he is originally from: Golden Valley CC, a private A.W. Tillinghast design; The Wilds, a Tom Weiskopf/Jay Morrish design; and Buffalo Heights, where he spent two years as Superintendent.

At the end of 1997 Ron and his wife moved from Minnesota to Washington. He spent four years as Assistant Superintendent at Everett Golf & CC before taking the position here at Avalon.

Ron has a degree in Golf Course and Turfgrass Management from Anoka-Hennepin College in Minnesota.

Ron and his wife Nikki have two daughters, Lily and Amelia .  They make their home in Bellingham, Washington.
